The new Head coach of the men’s A2 series from Cuneo is Max Giaccardi. In the “Massimiliano” registry office, the technician from Fossano is for everyone “Max” or as he says “Maxx”. His presence in Cuneo in recent weeks has not gone unnoticed; yes, although there have been no official communications, the Club is working at full capacity together with the coach to create the new roster that will present itself at the starting blocks on 9 October for the 78th men’s A2 series championship.

In the last 5 seasons Giaccardi has directed the first men’s team of the “LUC Volleyball” of Lausanne, a militant university club in the Serie A championship with which he won two league titles and a Swiss Super Cup.

His return to the province and on the Cuneo bench as head coach is a source of great pride for him: “The call from a renowned and historic club like Cuneo is always a surprise and I am proud to have received it. It gives me great pleasure to return to coaching in Italy, especially because the A2 championship is a great challenge, I can’t wait for August 3 to start. The fact of being back in the province charges me and gives me even more motivation. I believe I am in the right place, at the right time and I will do everything I can to be the right man. From what I perceived, starting to breathe the air of Cuneo, volleyball is Cuneo and Cuneo is volleyball, so if the sequel and the BBs are very demanding, fine! One more reason to be prepared for the season. In recent years, although abroad, I was struck by the great rebirth, all the new young figures at the management level who have given a turning point and have always believed in the Cuneo project. A round of applause to all of them, to the players and to the staff who helped “Our” reality to return to the volleyball that counts; now we have to raise the bar again “- these are the first words of Max Giaccardi as coach of Cuneo.

Yes, as stated by coach Giaccardi, the preparation of the 2022/23 season for the athletes who will wear the white and blue colors of Cuneo, will begin on Wednesday 3 August. We asked him directly what the team that will participate in the 78th Serie A2 championship will be like: «It will be a well-established team with all young rampants behind it, eager to prove their worth on the pitch. The challenge will start from the first training session, I will want to see them all fighting for a space on the pitch! I have already talked to all the boys, but even if only with someone on the phone, I think I can say that they are an enthusiastic group ».
