The test match disputed on Friday gave us the chance to see Mazzarelli playing as a second setter.
“This test matches are useful to keep the game rythm during the championship’s break, and for who, like me, played less, because they let us finally feel a match, taste the game and get used to the feeling of being on the court, using what we learned by training. From the match with Corigliano we got important advices”.

Are you playing more or less than you expected coming to Taranto?

“I’m playing parts of matches, in every match I can have my moment of glory thanks to the double switch that coach Di Pinto makes. My misfortune is that such a player as De Giorgi never fails one (laughs..) and for me it is difficult to find my space with such a good one before me”

What do you envy to De Giorgi?

“His technique, the firmness in managing the team and in always knowing what is right to do. It is not easy to manage such a good team, and he has the experience to do it”.

Are you technically similar or not?

“There are many differences between us. He is much more technical, I’m more physical”.

Does Di Giorgi give you many advices?

“He gives me many while we are training, and just to work with him is enough to learn something every day”.

What would you give to be on court in the next match against Castellana Grotte, being born there?

“I would give my soul to the devil (evil laugh). I’m joking.. What matters is that the team wins, then if I’m there it is better, but not because it is my former team, but bcause I want to show my supporters and my teammates that they can count on me… Well of course I would even like to play to show my game to my friends”.

How are you diong with coach Di Pinto?

“There is a really good professional relationship, we can talk. He is always teaching so many things and I found out he is even a very good person, we can even have fun together, when we are not working!”.
