Modena- M. Roma Volley sets things straight and puts Cimone Modena under pressure with the service. It is a winning move that allows for Ricardo’s fast game.
Modena’s attack suffers from it and becomes predictable for Roma’s blocking. An unstoppable Ivan Miljkovic does the rest, attacking at 100% in the first set.

All the emotions in the second set are right at the end. M. Roma seems to be flying to an easy conquest but Cimone Modena reacts:they register the digging with Casoli in for Dennis and have the strength to go head to head. Modena nulls three set balls and thanks to Ricardo’s ace they take the lead. Roma does not give in and nulls three set balls too before taking advantage of Nascimento’s attacking mistake.
The forth set point is in Marshall’s hands who hits from the nine metres and goes to 29-31 worth the second set.

Modena does not give up and in the third set they start their second match. Andrea Giani confirms Casoli in the starting six but it is the whole formation who puts more efford into it.
Both teams have very high percentages in attack with very little difference.
Cimone Volley wins the forth set and presses its foot on the accelerator (8-3), but all of a sudden its killer desappears and at the second time out Roma is ahead (15-16). The home attack stopps, it becomes faulty and the guests get their confidence back. Roma wins the match with Hubert Henno saving 3 impossible balls on 18-22. Miljkovic and friends understand their time has come and they conquest the three winning points.

MVP: Ivan Miljkovic (M. Roma Volley)

Roberto Serniotti (M. Roma Volley): “ I am very happy and satisfied with the boys performance, I’d rather win a match like this, demonstrating attitude, than with an easy 3-0. In the forth set their mistakes helped us, otherwise we would have gone to the fifth one. We were good at taking advantage of it”.

Andrea Giani (Cimone Volley Modena): “I am very sorry. We have not approached such an important match in the best possible way from the beginning. In the forth set we made too many mistakes, with such good teams that’s often what makes the difference”.
