Perugia easy over Padova

In the fifth round of the A1 league, Perugia won Saturday’s game. In its PalaEvangelisti gym, Di Pinto’s boys thrashed Padova 3-0. While the three points have been greatly welcomed by Perugia, Padova goes home empty ended again and remains stuck at the bottom of the league without even a single point and only two sets won.

There was individual satisfaction for Giacomo Sintini, who reached the 200 blocks in the Serie A, and for Goran Vujevic who scored 3.000 points in regular season.

Padova struggled straight from the start, being 6-2 down on a Felizardo block. They got back within one at 11-10 but that’s when the host took over (25-22). Perugia led from start to finish in the second for a final 25-14 humiliation. In the third and final set, Padova stayed in it only at the beginning before Perugia took off to finish the job off on a 25-20 score, with Vujevic sealing the deal.

Vincenzo Di Pinto (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “We needed to win all three points and that’s what we did. We had a repressed anger, not so much because of Macerata but the game before against Forli. We’re working to keep increasing the variety in our game and the progress shown on court are becoming interesting”.

Bruno Bagnoli (Antonveneta Padova): “There are many things that are not working. We’re struggling and we can’t even do well in what should be our strength. There is a lot of work to do”.
