The first week of European competition is over for the Italian clubs. Following the hat trick of victories in the Champions League, the Italians were involved today in the Cev Cup and Challenge Cup.

Cuneo was the only Italian team to finish on the losing end this week, being defeated at the tie-break against Cannes at home. The French team dominated the first set but Prandi’s men reacted and turned things around to lead 2-1. However, a more dynamic Cannes took over to win 3-2.

Apart from the second set, it was almost all one-way traffic for Treviso against Maccabi with three sets won without much trouble.

Cuneo will play the return game of this Cev Cup first round on Wednesday at 8pm, while Treviso’s challenge Cup return game is scheduled on Tuesday 11 at 8pm.
