THE MAIN DATES OF THE SERIE A TIM 2008/09
The presentation of the calendars has virtually started the 2008/2009 season. The Serie A TIM will officially kick off on the 28th of september and end on the 22nd of march for the Serie A1 TIM and on the 11th of april for the Serie A2 TIM.
MIDWEEK ROUNDS – There won’t be any midweek rounds for the Serie A1 TIM in the next season except on the 6th of january.
A midweek appointment is scheduled for the Serie A2 TIM on the 12th of november 2008.
After three years of successful ticket sales the Boxing Day round will not be played due to the proximity of the next round played the following sunday.
SERIE A1 TIM PLAYOFFS – Again to the best of 5 matches the Serie A1 TIM Playoffs. The quarterfinals will start on the 29th of march and will end with a possible match 5 on the 17th of may. From the 19th of april to the 1st of may the semifinals will take place, while the championship final will grab everyone’s attention from the 4th to the 17th of may.
SERIE A2 TIM PROMOTIONS PLAYOFFS – The Promotion Playoffs formula has been confirmed for the second ticket to the top league, the first one given to the winner of the regular season, amongst the teams qualified 2nd to 9th. The promotion playoffs will start on the 15th of april to end with a possible match 3 on the 16th of may 2009.
Demotions to the Serie B1 will be four.
EVENTS – To write on your calendars are also the appointments with the great events of the Serie A TIM. The season prologue will be, as usual, the TIM Supercup on the 21st of september which will see Italian Champions Itas Diatec Trentino facing the TIM Cup Italian Cup 2008 winner Lube Banca Marche Macerata.
The TIM All Star Volley, the amtch of Italian Volleyball Stars, is scheduled for the 26th of november 2008. Great news regarding the TIM Cup. This season, infact, will have the two Final Four of A1 ans A2 played on hte same week end, 31 Jan – 1st Feb 2009, to give everyone the chance for a great volleyball appointment.
