LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA – ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO 0-3 (17-25, 18-25, 15-25) –

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA: Lebl 2, Raymaekers 3, Cisolla 13, Paparoni, Vermiglio 1, Bartoletti 1, Dentinho Rafael 1, Smerilli (L), Martino 2, Corsano (L), Omrcen 9, Podrascanin 3. Dnp Monopoli. Coach. De Giorgi Ferdinando.

ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO: Kaziyski 8, Gallosti (L), Birarelli 3, Portuondo Juantorena 12, Vieira De Oliveira 5, Vissotto Neves 16, Sala 8, Herpe, Bari (L). Dnp Zygadlo, Fedrizzi, Sokolov, Corsini. Coach. Stoytchev Radostin.

Second consecutive loss for Macerata: 0-3 against Treviso and now beaten on the same score at home against a brilliant Trentino team. Thanks to an excellent serve and great work at the net, Stoytchev’s men made it all one way traffic.  Raphael was the MVP of the game, Vissotto scored 16 (58%), Juantorena added 12, while Kaziyski and Sala chipped in 8 each. De Giorgi tried to turn things around sending Dentinho and Raymaekers on for Martino and Lebl but in vain. Macerata made an awful lot of mistakes as Trento cruised happily to victory.

Igor Omrcen (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “We started the game missing just about everything, and they did well to take advantage and keep it till the end. Trento remained composed, playing its game, while we were tensed during the whole game. We haven’t found our balance yet, we need a change immediately”.

Osmany Juantorena (Itas Diatec Trentino): “Important and I’d say deserved victory, because we played better than Macerata. We made it really difficult for them with our serve and that eased up our task. We did well to stay composed. We have to keep going this way”.

TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA – COPRATLANTIDE PIACENZA 0-3 (20-25, 17-25, 21-25) –

TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA: Contreras 7, Gonzalez 1, Corvetta, Marquez 10, Andrae 6, Ferraro (L), Saraceni 1, Tencati 6, Barone 10, Cicola (L). Dnp Cannistrà, Moltò, Simeonov. Coach. Uriarte Jon.

COPRATLANTIDE PIACENZA: Mazza (L), Meoni 1, Marshall 17, Grassano, Zlatanov 15, Durante (L), Oivanen 10, Urnaut 6, Bjelica 6. Dnp Rak, Boninfante, Sequeira, Bravo. Coach. Lorenzetti Angelo.

Piacenza won a crucial match up against Vibo Valentia, which is starting to fade maybe due to the many games in few days to play. After consecutives losses against Cuneo and Trento, Lorenzetti’s boys arrived in Vibo with the intention to get back home with three vital points. And so they did. They dominated, they did not make many mistake in attack and on the serve, which is mainly what led Zlatanov and co to victory. Besides, they knew they were to face a Vibo team that had obtained a great win in Latina and consequently approached the game in the right way.

Angelo Lorenzetti (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “We have been very focused on a tough court. The Vibo seen tonight was surely not the one that played against Treviso, Trento and the others. Hopefully, the bad times are behind us now”.

Jon Uriarte (Tonno Callipo ViboValentia): “Piacenza made it tough for us right  from the start with its serve. We did not manage to react and have been punished. We are surely a bit tired too. Let’s focus on the Perugia game”.

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO – SISLEY TREVISO 3-1 (26-24, 20-25, 25-17, 25-18) –

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO: Wijsmans 14, Henno (L), Parodi 12, Fortunato 7, Nuti, Nikolov 25, Grbic 6, Peda, Mastrangelo 10, Patriarca, Pieri (L). Dnp Ariaudo, Jeroncic. Coach. Giuliani Alberto.

SISLEY TREVISO: Carletti, Fei 14, Horstink 17, Papi 4, Farina (L), Kohut, Sabbi 1, De Togni 7, Bontje 10, Maruotti 3, Vanin (L), Garcia 1. Dnp Cuda. Coach. Piazza Roberto.

Cuneo scored no less than 6 aces in the fourth set, four of which came from Wijmans. Crucial were the ones that tied it at 11 and then led to a 12-11 score. Nikolov helped Cuneo to a 15-14 lead while Parodi took his teammates to a 21-16 advantage.

Alberto Giuliani (Bre Banca Lannutti): “Given that we have little time to train, we played with great fighting spirit and when you do so, you often get results like tonight’s”.

Roberto Piazza (Sisley Treviso): “We made a couple of mistakes too many without taking advantage of our strengths. In the third set, we were in front but then Cuneo took control. We shouldn’t have made that many mistakes in attack and reception”.

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA – ESSE-TI CARILO LORETO 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19) –

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA: Rauwerdink 15, Pesenti (L), Tuominen, Forni 7, Molteni 6, Buti 12, Haldane 1, Travica 2, Gavotto 23, Exiga (L). Dnp Sivula, Krumins, De Luca. Coach. Berruto Mauro.

ESSE-TI CARILO LORETO: De Angelo Freitas 11, Marra (L), Marzola, Diachkov 11, Dolfo 3, Van Dijk 9, Visentin 3, Vigilante, Belcecchi, Paoli, Cester 7, Shumov 6. Coach. Moretti Luca.

These have been four sets without much suspense, but which gives three precious points to Monza. Both teams made many mistakes at the expense of a lacking continuity and the team that had the best potential and the most in-form outside hitter took the game. Mauro Gavotto beat Van Dijk, not very influential. Buti had the better of Cester, and Exiga entertained with spectacular digs.

Luca Moretti (Esse-ti Carilo Loreto): “Many mistakes and not much effectiveness in attack from my best players. The fixture list is not helping much because we can’t train as we would like to, with consistency”.

Jeroen Rauwerdink (Acqua Paradiso Monza):“Our game was not flowing much. It has probably not been a great game but what matters is the final result. This victory and points mean a lot to us”.

RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT PERUGIA – MARMI LANZA VERONA 0-3 (20-25, 16-25, 20-25) –

RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT PERUGIA: Savani 13, Bucaioni, Cernic 9, Nemec 3, Botti 1, Ogurcak, Sintini 1, Pippi (L), Stokr 12, Fanuli (L), Bovolenta 3. Dnp Petruzzo Rocco, Lo Bianco. Coach. Sartoretti Andrea.

MARMI LANZA VERONA: Latelli (L), Colaci, Sottile 1, Della Lunga, Lasko 7, Kovar 12, Curti 1, Holt 7, Kromm 16, Howard 7. Dnp Groppi, Galabinov, Peslac. Coach. Bagnoli Bruno.

Middleblocker Stefan Hubner did not play and will be out for 3-4 weeks because of a pulled muscle. Massimo Botti, the only ex of the team, substituted him. Perugia was severely brushed aside by a Verona team that limited nicely the opposite spikers. Sartoretti’s turnover had no effect: nothing seemed to be going for Perugia, while Verona was composed and served well. Perugia did not go to the press conference.

Robert Kromm (Marmi Lanza Verona):“We played well. The combination of dig and block worked well. We’ve been very incisive on the serve. We had prepared the game well, but we did not expect an opponent like this”.

ARAN CUCINE ABRUZZO PINETO – PRISMA TARANTO 1-3 (22-25, 25-13, 20-25, 25-27) –

ARAN CUCINE ABRUZZO PINETO: Perez Moreno, Roberts 13, Modica, Lampariello (L), Ronaldo 2, Sborgia 5, Di Franco 9, Perazzolo 24, Ereu 13, Armeti (L), Gradinarov 1. Dnp Ravellino, Centorame Claudio. Coach. Brutti Alessandro.

PRISMA TARANTO: De Oliveira 14, Ricciardello (L), Candellaro 6, Montagna (L), Cozzi 9, Moretti, Suxho, Rodrigo Pinto 23, Abbadi 15, Westphal 1, Spescha. Dnp Elia, Quartarone. Coach. Montagnani Paolo.

Taranto came back from Pineto’s Palamagetti with a 3-1 win. A deserved victory but which should not be deceptive. Pineto has always been in the game, it found the resources to totally dominate the second set to 13. The team work and the composure in the crucial moments of the game was the difference for Taranto. However, it’s a good step forward for Pineto, which is a good omen for the delicate trip to Latina next Sunday”.

Alessandro Brutti (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “We definitely progressed tonight: I think we would really have deserved a point tonight. Let’s build on this good performance, the best until now, convinced that we can only improve”.

Paolo Montagnani (Prisma Taranto): “It’s been a nervy and tight game. Luckily, in the end, we showed our quality. These are three important points. It was a nice feeling to come back here, and I take the opportunity to thank the fans for the banner they dedicated to me”.

YOGA FORLI’ – ANDREOLI LATINA 0-3 (18-25, 20-25, 23-25) –

YOGA FORLI’: Coscione 3, Carrol 1, Popp 13, Stancu 3, Gjorgiev, De Pandis (L), Bianchi (L), Damassa 1, Casadei 13, Loglisci 1, Maric 10, Kolev. Dnp Bacci. All. Molducci Piero.

ANDREOLI LATINA: Van Den Dries 1, Gitto 10, Giovi (L), Saitta 4, Snippe, Nikic 16, Fabroni 1, Vujevic 5, Spairani 5, Giombini 17. Dnp Cortina, Geric. All. Ricci Daniele.

Forli made a lot of mistakes against a determined Latina team, which won it thanks to its blocks and serves. Nikic, named MVP, and Giombini had a near-perfect performance. Saitta did a good job to assist them in the clutch time of each sets. Forli made too many mistakes, with an under par Maric and Carroll sent to the bench very soon. Casadei and Popp did well scoring 13 apiece.

Sergiu Stancu (Yoga Forlì): “we have to forget quickly about this game, an awful performance. Shame, we really wanted to do well but too many things went astray”.

Daniele Ricci (Andreoli Latina): “A deserved win.
We wanted it. We prepared the game well, to cut down on the mistakes and start playing the way we had in mind this summer. We managed to do so”.
