Trentino beat the Czech team of Budejovice and need now just two sets on its home court against Olympiacos in the last game to go through. Everything going finely for Macerata too: It secured the top spot of its group thanks to a victory over Budvanska. On the other hand, it is yet another disappointing night for Piacenza in Europe: It fought for five sets but in the end had to surrender against the Polish team of Jastrzebski Wegiel.
In the Cev Cup, Cuneo goes through to the quarter finals thanks to a 3-1 home win over Tallin. The next round will be against Tourcoing Lille Métropole, from France.
Perugia made it to the 8th of final of the Challenge cup by sweeping Famagusta from Cyprus. In the next round, it will meet Kakanj from Bosnia, in February.
