Trentino obtained its ticket for its second consecutive Champions League Final Four thanks to a 3-1 win away against Resovia. The game was over after one set, as this is all Trentino needed to go through thanks to its 3-0 first leg triumph. Sala offered an MVP performance: 14 points, with 4 blocks and an ace. Riad (5 blocks), Juantorena (5 aces) and Herpe (60%) also shined. The holders will defend their title in Lodz, Poland, on the 10 and 11 of April.
“I am extremely satisfied, not only with the qualification but also with the performance of the team in this game – explained coach Stoytchev – We started off concentrated, we knew we had to get ourselves the set needed and not wait for the mistakes of our opponent. Thanks to this attitude, we imposed our game, without running any risk. I liked the determination we had from the second set onwards when, despite the fact there was nothing left to play for, we could see our great will to win any game we’d take part in. The Final Four is only one stop, not the arrival. We have bigger targets and we’ll work on them already in the next few days”.
The last two games of the Playoffs 6 will be played tomorrow. The winners of Bled (slo) and Innsbruck (aus) will meet Trentino in the semi-final, while the winner of Olympiacos versus Dinamo Moscow will face the hosts, Belchatow.
