ESSE-TI CARILO LORETO – PRISMA TARANTO 2-3 (25-19, 22-25, 27-29, 25-22, 6-15) –

ESSE-TI CARILO LORETO: De Angelo Freitas 10, Marra (L), Marzola, Diachkov 16, Dolfo 2, Van Dijk 19, Tereshin, Visentin 6, Belcecchi, Cester 12, Shumov 18. DNP Paoli. Coach. Moretti.

PRISMA TARANTO: De Oliveira 25, Ricciardello (L), Candellaro, Montagna, Cozzi 9, Moretti 21, Suxho 3, Westphal 3, Elia 11, Rodrigo Pinto 1, Quartarone, Bartman 5. Coach. Serniotti.

Loreto could only get a point at home against Taranto. Suxho’s run of serves proved key in the tie-break. Moretti MVP. Wednesday’s game will be crucial now for Visentin and co.

Cristian Vigilante (Esse-ti Carilo Loreto): “It was a tough game, we fought all the way through against a team that wanted to do well and finish positively their season. We did everything we could to win it. There was a couple of dubious calls that did not help in the third set. Still, we stayed focused and tied it at 2-2. Anyway, we took a point, which still leaves us a chance. We’ll need the three points at all cost against Pineto. We’ll fight until the last play of the season”.

Cleber De Oliveira (Prisma Taranto): “We are very happy with this victory even if we haven’t got any more targets to reach this season. We had to fight for this win, It’s always nice to get a win under your belt, just to let people know that Taranto is still there and that it will keep playing to win until the last game of the season, for the club, the President and the fans”.

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO – LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-19)

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO: Wijsmans 22, Henno (L), Parodi 13, Ariaudo, Fortunato 9, Nikolov 14, Grbic 5, Peda, Mastrangelo 9, Patriarca 3. DNP Nuti, Jeroncic. Coach. Giuliani.

Serve and blocks were the weapons that led Cuneo to a 3-1 victory over Macerata in front of over 4000 supporters. Thanks to these three points, Cuneo consolidates its second place. Wijsmans was back in front of his fans and was named MVP (Top scorer with 22 points).

Wout Wijsmans (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “Tonight, we have done a good job in every area of the game. The quality of our game is also due to the good work of the staff. I have been out for a long time in order to get back at my best. Now I’m fine and hopefully, I’ll stay in form”.

Fefè De Giorgi (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “We struggled to receive Cuneo’s serves. Cuneo did well in the third and even better in the fourth. Still, we could have done better”.

No surprises at the PalaMagetti. Trento cruised to a 3-0 win and gets closer to a triumph in the regular season. Round of applause for young Claudio Centorame (1992), who made his debut for the home team.

Davidson Lampariello (Aran Cucine Abruzzo Pineto): “It was a good game. We did as well as we could against a team that is clearly superior to us. We are satisfied with our attitude, we proved we fought hard every Sunday and we’ll keep doing so in the last two games of the season, to get out with our heads high”.

Emanuele Birarelli (Itas Diatec Trentino): “Given Pineto’s situation, we knew the game depended on us. I feel sorry for the boys, because I’m sure they could have shown their individual worth in a different situation. As for us, we played our game and are going home with the three points”.

RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT PERUGIA – COPRATLANTIDE PIACENZA 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-19) –

RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT PERUGIA: Savani 13, Cernic 7, Nemec 11, Botti 4, Ogurcak, Sintini 2, Pippi (L), Stokr 15. DNP Bucaioni, Lo Bianco, Fanuli, Bovolenta. Coach. Di Pinto.

COPRATLANTIDE PIACENZA: Rak 4, Meoni 1, Grassano 2, Boninfante, Zlatanov 9, Bravo 13, Rinaldi (L), Urnaut 6, Bjelica 8. DNP Spadoni Andrea, Oivanen. Coach. Lorenzetti.

Live on TV, Perugia swept the Italian Champs, Piacenza. Perugia tallied an impressive 11 aces, while this is the fourth consecutive 3-0 away from home for Piacenza. Meanwhile, Jan Stokr received his MVP award for the month of February.

Massimo Botti (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “Me and Nemec were an unprecedented couple of middleblockers tonight. We’ve never trained together, Hubner got a back problem this morning. Anyway, it went very well, Martin did a good job and we have played brilliantly, especially on the serve. With such serving, we could have won against anyone tonight”.

Angelo Lorenzetti (CoprAtlantide Piacenza): “I feel ashamed and I hope this is the case for everyone. We’ve had many injuries until today, but that’s enough now. As long as we’ll be here in Piacenza, we’ll have an intense atmosphere in the gym. We have to change our way of working. We must all be focused on the club and nothing else”.

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA – SISLEY TREVISO 3-2 (23-25, 24-26, 30-28, 25-22, 15-13) –

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA: Sivula, Rauwerdink 15, Krumins, Semenzato 2, Haldane, Forni 5, Molteni 12, Buti 10, Travica 9, Gavotto 26, Exiga (L). DNP Tuominen, De Luca. Coach. Berruto.

SISLEY TREVISO: Carletti, Fei 28, Papi 17, Farina (L), Kohut 6, De Togni 4, Bontje 14, Maruotti 12, Garcia 1. DNP Sabbi, Vanin, Cuda. Coach. Piazza.

The 8 wonders: this is indeed the 8th win in a row for Berruto’s team. Trailed 2-0, Monza turned things around and snatched it at the tie-break. It could do it thanks to some great dig from exiga, good attack from Rauwerdink and obviously the strength of the group. Without Horstink, Treviso put all their hopes on Fei, who scored 28 points (58% in attack).

Andrea Semenzato (Acqua Paradiso Monza): “That was great to be back and play against a top team, I really missed the court. The third set was the turning point, without any doubt: congratulations to the team, because we never gave up, not even at 2-0. Even in those two first sets, we stayed close. This is our 8th win, this says it all on our potential. This was also a psychological victory: at times they had to force the issue to change the momentum and made some mistakes. By then, we were confident, thanks as well to our amazing fans”.

Alessandro Fei (Sisley Treviso): “We’re a bit disappointed not to have sealed it when we could have. The third set was the crucial one. We made too many mistakes, and they started to play well, everything became harder then. While we made more and more mistakes, they kept making fewer. They played well”.

YOGA FORLì – MARMI LANZA VERONA 0-3 (21-25, 24-26, 22-25) –

Too many mistakes for Forli and all too easy for Verona. Casadei with 16 points and 52% was not enough for Forli.

Alberto Casadei (Yoga Forlì): “I feel we could have done more, especially in the second set. Shame, we knew how important it was but it did not go our way”.

Bruno Bagnoli (Marmi Lanza Verona): “We had a good game, even if we had a couple of mistakes too many. Our opponent had to win to stay up, so it was a tough one”.
