Lights off in the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. Time of tragic mourning in Poland, the country is on its knees. Once it came to know about the air crash that killed the Polish political leaders, the CEV has officially cancelled the Champions League Final Four in a press conference just a few hours ago.

It is not known if or when the event will be played. The teams that were meant to fight it out for the title were Trentino, the holders from Italy, the Slovenians from Bled, the Russians from Moscow and the hosts Belchatow.

“It would have been difficult to play at this time in Poland – said setter Zygadlo – This is a terrible news for our country, a real tragedy and you can clearly understand the decision to stop the competition. I would have struggled to get on court today, and all the players from Belchatow too. The President was extremely respected, we are all deeply sad”.
