Trentino ended the Champions League Main Phase with a 3-2 defeat in Germany. A first KO without consequence given that the Italians were already qualified. The Germans needed a victory at all cost to keep their hopes alive as one of the best third classified teams.

Radostin Stoytchev (Trentino BetClic): “With an unprecedented line-up and therefore hardly ever tried on court before tonight, it was objectively difficult to ask more of the boys. But they fought hard till the end and showed an excellent spirit. I can’t be happy with the result, but a defeat can happen and it is one of the few negative aspects of the evening. Amongst the most positive ones: Sokolov’s performance. Despite the fact that the Germans focused to limit him, he found some solutions to score points”.

Samuele Papi (Sisley Treviso): “We are happy to stay in Europe. We finished this experience in the Champions League heads high. We were in a very tough group, but we tried our best in each game. We can be disappointed with the two games played against Tours, in which we could have done more. But we’ll now focus on the Cev Cup and on a tough schedule until the end of the season. My experience as Libero? It was not the first time since my time in the national team. In terms of reception, it does not change much. I found it a bit difficult to find the right positioning in dig but overall I think I did OK. Hopefully, I have been able to help. I’d like to thank the supporters in Belluno: they were great pushing us from start to finish”.
