CEV Cup

Another tie-break for Treviso, through to the semis

It ended again at the tie-break and once again Treviso had the better of Sete. It qualifies for the Cev Cup semi-final, in which it will face the Polish side of Asseco Rzeszow (in which there are Cernic and Baranowicz and coached by the father of Monza’s setter, Travica). Fei could not take part but Piazza’s boys made up for it with a great performance at the net (23 blocks) and a brilliant game from Maruotti.

Roberto Piazza (coach Sisley Treviso): “It was a strange and difficult game. Strange because my boys were on and off, but still I have to congratulate them for how they reacted after the fourth set. In the third set we dominated, while the French outplayed us in the fourth, although you could see there were good signs for the tie-break when I sent back the starting six that had begun the game at the end of the fourth. Besides the great work at the net, I have to congratulate Maruotti for his performance. He was crucial, he also had an important ace at the end of the tie-break”.
