In the Champions League playoffs 6 return leg, the Golden set proved lethal for Giuliani’s boys who did win the game but surrendered in the decisive set against Dinamo Moscow. The latter consequently goes through to the Final Four, to be played in Bolzano on March 26-27.

Really not much divided the two teams in the first two sets and it was tied going in the third. From that point on, the balance shifted to the Italian side as Cuneo totally dominated the next two sets. Dinamo showed a hint of trying to come back before giving up and sending his stars on the bench to get a rest.

Everything was therefore down to the Golden Set. Moscow got off to a strong 3-0 start. The score swell up to 7-4 and 10-6 for the hosts. Cuneo got back within 2 at 10-8 but the Russians escaped and obtained four match points at 14-10. Moscow sealed it at 15-11 and will face the other Russian team, Kazan, in the semi-final.
