Modena won its 10th tie-break in 11 played this season. They defeated a Castellana Grotte team that proved to be worth much more than the last-from-bottom position they’re in right now. In the end, nearly three hours of intense volleyball with important points at stake for both teams, Modena for the playoffs and Castellana to stay up.
Daniele Bagnoli (coach Casa Modena): “On the one hand, you have to give credit to the opponent, to the quality of their volleyball, I’m sorry for Flavio Gulinelli who’s doing a great job. On the other hand, we have made a step back in terms of level of play, we keep suffering from inconsistency. I am obviously happy with the victory and the two points, let’s wait and see Sunday’s results now…”.
Flavio Gulinelli (coach BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte): “We came here with the right mentality, and we had a good game. We believe in our chances, and we will right until the end. There are still 6 points at stake and we’re still in it”.
