Both the Champions League and Cev Cup will observe a break due to the World Cup and will resume from December 13. The Challenge Cup second round will begin that same week with Modena taking part in it and making its debut against VC Strassen, Luxemburg.
In the Champions League second round, both Cuneo and Macerata registered their first loss. Gulinelli’s team lost home against Budejovice. This means second place in the group for Wijsmans and co with 3 points, tied with the Czechs and behind the French of Poitiers. As for Gulinelli’s team, it got off to a poor start in Turkey, quickly being two sets down against Fenerbahce, but ti fought back to force a tie-break and is now second just one point behind the Turkish side.
Everything went fine on the toher hand for Trentino which added another 3-0 win over the Polish team of Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle.
In the Cev Cup, brilliant start for Monza who defeated the Finnish of Lakkapaa Rovaniemi in three sets both in the first and second leg to qualify for the 8th of final. Zanini’s team will face the Swiss of Volley Nafels in December.
