All Star Volley 2011 – Marcello Gabana Memorial
We’re just one day away from the All Star Game – Marcello Gabana Memorial, which will kick off at 8.30pm tomorrow in Monza. The referees will be Sandro La Micela (1st), from Trento, and Gianni Prandi (2nd) from Roncoferraro (MN).
Slow motion
A special camera will be used in the All Star Game: the Slow Motion (the ‘slo-mo)’will be placed on one side of the court at the net’s height to help judge blocking situations.
“After the Sport Moles, which will be put on the Mondoflex tricolour court for this event too, we are continuing our technological research to help the refereeing, which has become extremely difficult at the highest level of modern volleyball given the unbelievable speed of the ball. This is why we will study the images of this camera, without giving it to anyone or Rai, to understand if it can give the refs more guarantees in the future”.
