The Italian Volleyball League and its Serie A2 clubs will play this weekend supporting the Italian Association for Road Victims and Relatives in the UN World Day for the remembrance of road victims.
The activities of the association are designed to promote public awareness and call for responsible driving to minimize the numbers of accidents and death on the road. The records are serious and underestimated as accidents are often caused by speed, distraction, lack of respect of the rules, use of mobile phones, alcohol, drugs and tiredness: each day 12 people die, 842 are injured, of which over 20 will report invalidity for life.
A minute silence will be observed on Sunday before the games to honour the memory of the road victims.
