Padova surrendered 3-1 against the Austrian top division side of Innsbruck, which put an end to a four-game winning streak. Jimenez and Berger proved to be the main threat for the winners. Still, on the positive for the Italians there was the come-back of captain Mattia Rosso with 14 points (4 blocks).

“The level of play got up a notch today – said sport director Santuz – We were up against a Champions League team. We dominated the first set while they led the play in the second. It was close in the 3rd and 4th and I was happy with the attitude of the boys. I am also happy with Vedovotto who showed excellent things”.
