The club welcomed back assistant coach Antonello Adriani after a few month spent next to coach Nacci leading Venezuela into the Pan American Cup in Mexico and the World Championships in Poland.

“One morning, I received a call from the head coach of the Venezuelan national team, Vincenzo Nacci – explained Adriani – I had been his assistant at Matera. He offered me to be his assistant again for Venezuela. I did not hesitate to accept this prestigious invitation, I received a lot of encouragement from the Matera president, Vito Gaudiano and Vincenzo Mastrangelo too. Working with an Italian coach, and meeting again with the strong outside hitter Kervin Pinerua, who was a star in the making in the A2 with Matera, made it easy for me to settle in. In my opinion, considering how young the team was, the boys did a good job”.
