70th championship presentation
The prestigious Hall of Honor CONI in Rome hosted the official presentation of the 70th Serie A championship UnipolSai. A beautiful evening to go over the 70 year history of the Italian league with videos and music.
Many new fixtures come into this new season: one above all is the launch of the Superlega UnipolSai. The system of teams going up and down is behind us, substitute by franchises, an unprecedented move in Italian sport.
The Serie A2 will be supported by a superb partner like UnipolSai for the coming two years. Following its positive experience in the league playoffs last season, it decided to put pen to paper on a two-year deal to become the main sponsor of the league and all its events.
Another new born project is the one of the “Lega Volley Channel. Besides the two games broadcasted on Rai Sport and in over 60 countries around the world every week, now all the other games will be in live streaming on this new channel.
“I am moved to be here for the first time as president – said the Italian Volleyball League president Albino Massaccesi – A big thank you to President Diego Mosna who had a fundamental role for the progress of Italian volleyball in recent years. We celebrate the 70th anniversary but it’s like it was the first year for me having launched the SuperLega, which will create a more solid economical basis”.
“The Italian League always looks forward to a better future but without forgetting the good things done in the past years – said the league CEO Massimo Righi – And one spectacular and unique project we have in mind is Volley Land”.
