Cantù sealed its roster with two signings in one go: setter Michele Groppi and spiker Iacopo Gatti. While Groppi won the A2 league title last season with Padova, Gatti is coming off a year in the B1 division with Cagliari.
“When I heard Cantù was looking for a setter, I immediately offered my services – explained Groppi – I never had any doubts. I had heard a lot of good about the club and the meeting with president Ambrogio Molteni merely confirmed all the things I already knew”.
As for Gatti, he will basically play at home as he was born very close in Erba. “Playing for Cantù is a great opportunity for me to grow and get better. I will try to learn a lot and help the team as much as possible every day in training”.
