On the eve of the Volley Market 2014 to take place in Bologna, Matera announced Caio Fernando Da Silva Fazanha as back-up outside hitter. Born in 1992, the Brazilian came up in the prestigious club of Volei Futuro before moving to Santo André. There will therefore be two Brazilians at Matera this season with Luis Fernando.
“I am happy to come to Italy and Matera – said Caio Fernando – I want to thank the club and coach Mastrangelo for the faith put in me. Coming to Matera could be the perfect opportunity to loose me on a good career on the international scene. I can’t wait to start training with the rest of the lads, I hope it will go well, this is my first time away from Brazil”.
