Ravenna collected an encouraging 3-1 victory in its first outing of the season away from home against Sansepolcro. Cebulj finished top scorer for Ravenna while Mengozzi shined with 5 blocks.

“Considering the fact it was the first one of the season and all the changes made we are extremely satisfied – said Stefano Margutti – I really liked the fighting spirit and the determination to come back in the second set when we were trailing 16-9”.

In the meantime in Poland, in the World Championships semi-finals, Benjamin Toniutti and France gave a good scare to the Brazil side of Renan Buiatti. Brazil eventually won 3-2 to qualify for the title game for the fourth consecutive time in the World Championships.
