Del Monte^® Italian Cup Serie A2 Final Four

Second cup in Abruzzo region

A press conference took place today in Chieti’s town hall to present the coming Italian Cup final four for the Serie A2. This is the second time the cup comes to the Abruzzo region following the final organized at Roseto degli Abruzzi in 2007.

The event, to take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February, is organized by the Italian Volleyball League Serie A and Società Sieco Service Ortona, in collaboration with the Abruzzo Regional Committee, and the Chieti Provincial Committee. The semi-finals will be Ortona versus Vibo Valentia and Corigliano against Potenza Picena. The final is scheduled on Sunday at 5pm.

“We hope to see a great weekend of sport – said the Chieti town mayor Umberto Di Primio – At times us administrators, we do all sorts of sacrifices in order to promote our city, our region, and I am certain that sport represents an extraordinary means to do so”.

The President of Ortona Tommaso Lanci spent a few words too: “This will be a historical event. We really wanted to organize it, to bring to the fore my club, my collaborators. I owed it as well to my children, who do so much for this sport”.

Finally, Massimo Righi took over to express a few thoughts: “There are so many fixtures in this edition, starting with this new formula of the Del Monte Italian Cup Serie A2, which will be hosted in Chieti. People will be able to see the Video Check System on giant screens, on which there will be many other activities with the fans as protagonists”.
