Parmareggio Modena-Energy T.I. Diatec Trentino 0-3 (24-26, 20-25, 19-25)

PARMAREGGIO MODENA – ENERGY T.I. DIATEC TRENTINO 0-3 (24-26, 20-25, 19-25) – PARMAREGGIO MODENA: Mossa De Rezende, Sala, Petric 6, Boninfante 1, Rossini (L), Ngapeth 10, Piano 10, Verhees 7, Kovacevic, Vettori 13. DNP Donadio, Casadei. Coach. Lorenzetti.

ENERGY T.I. DIATEC TRENTINO: Kaziyski 13, Birarelli 5, Giannelli 7, Lanza 8, Solé 7, Colaci (L), Djuric 13. DNP Zygadlo, Nemec, Thei, Mazzone, Fedrizzi, Burgsthaler. Coach. Stoytchev.

Trentino’s exceptional statement in front of a sold-out crowd (5100) in Modena in Game 4 means Stoytchev’s men are celebrating their fourth title in the history of the club. All the league titles were won with the Bulgarian head coach at the helm in 2008, 2011, 2013 and the present one. Birarelli and Kaziyski are the two players that were there in each one of them. Colaci won 3, Burgsthaler, Djuric, Giannelli, Lanza, Zygadlo won 2, while it was the first one for the others. Young Giannelli was once again sent on from the start and he had a terrific outing. The setter deservedly won the MVP award. This was the 15th time that the regular season winner was eventually crowned national champion.

Radostin Stoytchev (coach Energy T.I. Diatec Trentino): “A superb victory, which came at the end of a season that was a bit difficult at the start. The boys have been unbelievable, today we made the difference in the second set, that’s when we started to fly. This triumph goes to the club, and many many people from Trento. Giannelli? He has to keep working, he shouldn’t get carried away, but he does have the talent”.

Simone Giannelli (Energy T.I. Diatec Trentino): “I’ll keep working in the gym to get better, you can always improve, but right now we’ll enjoy this victory. It’s true, I’ve won a title a season, it’s great to give my contribution to the club, this one is definitely more important than the titles won with the youth teams. Modena is very strong, but our come-back in the first set made things easier for us. I dedicate this victory to my family, my girlfriend and the fans. It’s not difficult for me to keep my feet on the ground, I just go home and then back to work”.

Mitar Djuric (Energy T.I. Diatec Trentino): “Superb victory, congratulations to Modena too, but we have been the better team this time. We have been rock solid in the key moments of the game, we kept at it all the time. I wanted to thank Martin Nemec, it might sound strange but it’s been tough for him. We are a team in this way too”.

Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Parmareggio Modena): “I just applauded Trento and now I’ll applaud my boys who had a fantastic season, with a superb triumph in the Italian Cup. We have faded in this final but we had a top class team in front of us”.
