Molfetta is the soul of Cuba. Not only because setter Raydel Hierrezuelo will stay one more year but also because the club brought in outside hitter Fernando Hernandez Ramos. Born in 1989, he’s been the main spiker of the Cuban national team for years. Italy discovered him in 2001 during the World League when he finished top scorer of the game with 19 points (3-2 for Italy), but scoring 19 was already routine work for him. Among his main achievements, he finished tip scorer of the World Cup with 225 points in 11 games, over 20 points per game! And there are more reasons for the Molfetta faithful to get excited because Hernandez and Hierrezuelo have a special understanding on and off the court. They did miracle together when they helped Cuba to the World Championships final in 2010, surrendering only to an amazing Brazilian side.
