The first day of the new season was today. Players and staff gathered except for four players due to international commitment: Fabio Balaso and Sebastian Milain were excused as they just won the Bronze with Italy Under 23 in the World Championsips, while the US Taylor Averill and Argentine Gonzalo Quirogo are currently tied to their national teams. With an average of 22 years and a half, the Padova squad will be the youngest of the SuperLega in 2015-16. Six players were extended from last season (Orduna, Giannotti, Balaso, Quiroga, Volpato and Milan) while seven new players were contracted: The Northern Americans Birna Cook and Taylor Averill (respectively spiker and middle blocker) will give the International touch to a group composed of 8 Italians out of 13, Nicolò Bassanello who was promoted to the first team as second libero, spiker Enrico Lazzaretto, who came up in the Padova academy and is back at the club, the Austrian Alexander Berger, setter Giacomo Leoni and Middle blocker Enrico Diamantini, one of the top prospects of Italian volleyball.
