World Club Championships 2016
Two in a row for Trento

One more victory for Trentino in the World Club Championships. Lorenzetti’s men had defeated the hosts of Minas Tenis Clube in the opening game and now they had the better of Bolivar on a 3-1 score. Lanza and co will now need just two sets against UPCN to make it in the semi-finals.

Just like against Minas, Trento had full control from the start thanks to an excellent serve and attack. However, they relaxed at the end of the second set and were surprised. Stokr was the main man with 68% and 20 points (2 aces, 1 block), Solé added 11 points (4 blocks) and Lanza had 14. Giannelli and Colaci had good performances too.

Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Diatec Trentino): “We accepted the invitation of the FIVB in this World Club Championships because we wanted to play games that matter a lot like the one we have ahead of us against UPCN. We are ready for a tough fight but also to find solutions against such strong opposition, who play volleyball with great fundamentals and built around their dig ».
