Trentino Itas presents itself in full force in Turkey and rises to the top of Europe for the fourth time in its history. The Dolomites needed only 83 minutes in Antalya to get their hands on the 2024 Champions League, beating Jastrzebski Wegiel in three sets (25-20, 25-22, 25-21). The Polish Club stops its run at the last stage as in the last edition (against Zaksa in Turin). Driven by Michieletto’s 16 points, Rychlicki’s 15 and Lavia’s contribution (11), impervious to the block thanks to the team’s 13 blocks (10 winners equally divided by Kozamernik and Podrascanin), Fabio Soli’s yellow-blues took the stage right from the start from the first partial. Itas also stands out for its clarity in the point-to-point phases against a very generous Fornal, top scorer of the match with 19 seals and the only scorer in double figures among Mendez’s men, treacherous on serve, but never masters of the game in front to the 8500 fans present. The end of the match was evocative with the decisive point scored by captain Podrascanin, eager to bring the most coveted trophy to Trento.
