A contract extension worth a new signing. Padova is delighted to announce it will keep outside hitter Stefano Giannotti for the 2016-17 season. Giannotti had made his pro debut in 2010 and his progress has been extraordinary since then. He quickly took over a starting role and collected no less than 1600 points. On the way, he won the Italian Cup A2 with the MVP award in the final and the promotion into the SuperLega.

“It’s obvious that the club is looking for continuity regarding its project which builds around young athletes – said Giannotti who will play his seventh season at Padova – I think the top teams will be even stronger if we look at the summer signings which means the level of the SuperLega will be even higher. It’s still early days but for now I have been impressed by Piacenza who has been very active on the market, but the true surprise could be Monza. They have kept most of their players and inserted a couple on the wing that could help them get a step higher”.
