Emma Villas Siena lifted its first Del Monte® Italian Cup Serie A2, in its second presence.
A clear and fast 3-0 at Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno versus Maury’s Italiana Assicurazioni Tuscania, with a winning final spike of Filippo Vedovotto, winner of his fourth Italian Cup in a row, after the one with Padova and two with Viba Valentia.
MVP of the game was the spanish hammer Sergio Nodo Blanco, with 22 points and 68% in attack.
It was a clear win for Paolo Tofoli’s team, who dominated the game in attack and down the net. On the other side, coach of Tuscania Paolo Montagnani was without the starting setter Riccardo Pinelli, with him Tuscania defeated two times Siena in this season, so his absence was very troubleful for Montagnani’s team.
Hundred and hundreds of fans (around 1600) arrived in Bologna to support Maury’s Italiana Assicurazioni Tuscania from Maremma, suffered a loss, but always happy to see their team fight until the end.
