The 3-2 victory of Ortona will not be approved. Farmitalia Saturnia filed a complaint at the end of the match for the technical error committed by the refereeing pair which sanctioned the team for a non-existent formation foul in the fifth set (10-7 for the Abruzzese) against Farmitalia. In the appeal, the club will ask for the match to be repeated. It’s a real shame because the two teams on the field hadn’t spared themselves by giving a show.
“The match – comments the president Luigi Pulvirenti – was “distorted” by the refereeing couple. There is no training foul on the pitch. We have complained about the obvious technical error and will ask for a repeat. Beyond the technical error, the direction of the first referee was disconcerting, given that he never sanctioned the numerous double fouls committed by the director Ferrato, distorting the first 4 sets. On one side there was a team with a setter who hit well, on the other one who systematically fouled without ever being penalised.”
