WOW Green House Aversa

Five years later, Aversa returned to Serie A2 Credem Banca. The Wow Green House, after the last Serie A3 championship, acquired the Agnelli Tipiesse Bergamo title by working during the summer to improve its roster and be competitive in the second Italian championship. The hard core of last season has been reconfirmed, among the new entries there are also Sandro Passaro, the new coach, and Riccardo Pinelli (the new setter), who were already together 5 years ago in the last season of Serie A2. President Sergio Di Meo managed to bring spiker Bruno Canuto back to Italy, but above all he managed to give the city of Aversa a champion, the former libero of the national team Salvatore Rossini who after a life spent in Modena decided to start again from team that launched him into high-level volleyball.

Consuls Sferc Brescia

Tenth consecutive appearance in Serie A2 for Consoli Sferc, renewed in all departments, but with some pillars to shore up the blue and white roster. It is once again the direction of Simone Tiberti (captain for the ninth time) that gives direction to the 6+1 from Brescia. On his diagonal there is the Dutchman Niels Klapwijk, a well-known face in the SuperLega arenas, while the high ball hitters are the “alpha toucan”, Abrahan Gavilan, a Cuban hammer who is very confirmed after his crackling debut last year, and Roberto Cominetti , an athlete who in the last three seasons has won two promotions, an Italian Cup and a Play Off Final. At the center, two certainties: Nicola Candeli, gritty and tenacious, and Alex Erati. The libero is Andrea Franzoni, again a welcome confirmation, supported by Mattia Braghini, already affiliated with the first team last year. The attack department is completed by Stefano Ferri, a young player with explosive potential arriving from Fano, an effective lateral shooter and position two, and Mattia Sarzi Sartori, already in the squad as a central defender, moved to the flank to refine his technique. With them, the central defenders Dane Mijatovic and Dhieu John Malual, fresh arrivals.

Pool Libertas Cantù

The 2022/23 season was decidedly unforgettable for Pool Libertas Cantù: second place at the end of the Regular Season, Play Off Semi-final, Semi-final of the DelMonte® Coppa Italia Serie A2 and Final of the Del Monte® Supercoppa Serie A2. This series of excellent results convinced President Ambrogio Molteni to give continuity to the project, confirming both the coaches (Francesco Denora Caporusso and his deputy Alessio Zingoni) and the basic structure of the team.

BCC Tecbus Castellana Grotte

A unitary project, totally renewed and largely rejuvenated: New Mater Volley Castellana Grotte enters its fifth consecutive season in the A2 series, its seventh overall participation in the second national tournament (two promotions via the Play Offs in 2012 and 2017, one the victory of the Italian Cup again in 2012) with a profoundly changed corporate structure, a new coach and a revolutionized roster. We start again from the Play Offs won last season and ended with the elimination in the Quarterfinals at the hands of Cantù. The coach is Simone Cruciani, born in 1986, in his first experience as head coach in Serie A2 after his years as a second and scoutman in Siena. The players include many young prospects such as setters Fanizza (born 2004) and Rampazzo (born 2003), spikers Cianciotta (born 2001) and Iervolino (born 2003), center backs Balestra (born 2003) and Ceban (2001). The Colombian opposite Bermudez, the hammer Alberto Pol and the libero Leonardo Battista represent that extra step of experience that BCC Tecbus will need to achieve its seasonal objectives.

Puliservice Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo

Cuneo Volley is ready to take the field for its sixth season in Serie A, the fourth consecutive in A2. Almost total renewal for Cuneo; starting from the name, Puliservice Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo, with the entry of a new title sponsor linked to the Giordana family alongside the now established link with the group managed by Antonio Biella. The technical sector sees the full installation of sporting director Paolo Brugiafreddo, the arrival of Matteo Battocchio as first coach and the confirmation of Lorenzo Gallesio as second. The team starts again with the confirmations of captain Iacopo Botto and central defender Lorenzo Codarin. An important return is that of the setter Daniele Sottile, alongside him the young Edoardo Colangelo from Parma, while in place two directly from Verona the Danish Mads Kyed Jensen who will be a great example for Federico Giacomini, second opposite from the Marche region. At the center is an institution of the Padua Super League, Marco Volpato who after several years leaves the captaincy to undertake a new challenge, together with him we find Massimiliano Cioffi ex Bergamo and one of the Fiöi of the Cuneo youth sector, Alessandro Coppa, promoted to the first team .

Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina

After the season of return to A2, the season of consolidation in the category begins for Grottazzolina, with renewed ambitions that move parallel to the profound metamorphosis that has affected the workforce. The title sponsor, Yuasa Battery, is also new, an “epochal” turning point for Grottazzolina. We start again with the Ortenzi-Minnoni duo, now consolidated on the bench; only five faces are already known from last season: the diagonal Marchiani – Breuning (best scorer of the A2 2022/23), captain Riccardo Vecchi in place four, Marco Cubito in the center and the eternal Roberto Romiti libero. Around these pillars, many important innovations, mostly already known to the public and with a lot of experience in the category: the hammer Michele Fedrizzi, fresh from the “treble” in Vibo, with his department colleague Claudio Cattaneo from Castellana Grotte; Andrea Marchisio, former Lube libero, also returning to the Marche after his experience with New Mater. The new “centres” are both from the Super League, Andrea Mattei (from Cisterna) and Andrea Canella (from Padua). From the A3 on the launching pad the Modenese Matteo Lusetti setter (from Bologna) and the Bulgarian hammer Aleksandar Mitkov (from Montecchio Maggiore).

Sieco Service Ortona

Passion, determination and a triumphant return. These are the words that best describe Sieco Service Ortona in its new adventure in Serie A2. After winning the A3 Series, finishing in command of its Blue group and defeating Virtus Fano in the Promotion Play-off between the two leaders, Ortona regained its place in A2 after only a year away. Last season was marked not only by the championship victory, but also by the arrival in the city of an icon of world volleyball: Leonel Marshall. At 44 years old, the Cuban champion has chosen to remain with Ortona, making himself available with the weight of his extraordinary career and an unparalleled passion for the game. The team didn’t stop there. The purchase of the opposite Diego Cantagalli, known for having scored 46 points in a single match with the Sieco shirt, and the arrivals of the experienced central defender Stefano Patriarca and the spiker Francesco del Vecchio, both with successful careers behind them , have further strengthened the training. This year, we will also see two Abruzzo teams in Serie A2, with ABBA Pineto joining the competition. This is not a rivalry, but a testimony to the growing strength of volleyball in Abruzzo. Sieco Service Ortona is ready to give its all in every match, with the aim of doing well and bringing families, friends and fans to the arena again. The team is determined to make Ortona fall back in love with volleyball.

Abba Pineto

On the one hand, the pride of having found Serie A2 Credem Banca again 12 years after the last time. On the other hand, despite the status of new entry, the ambition of wanting to compete with a superior category. This is how ABBA Pineto presents itself at the start of the 2023/24 championship. After a year, last year, made memorable by the conquest of the Italian Cup and Super Cup in Serie A3, Pineto starts again first of all from its roots made up of volleyball tradition, ties with the territory, with the region, with the city and with its fans . On the field, then, there is a profoundly renewed staff, the one built by the company of president Guido Abbondanza and entrusted to the technical guidance of the confirmed coach Giacomo Tomasello. Alongside captain Matteo Paris, who is also confirmed from last year together with Matteo Mignano, Enrico Basso and Giancarlo Pesare, important additions have arrived such as spikers Corey Chavers, Felipe Benavídez, Paolo Di Silvestre, Gianluca Loglisci and Zouhair Msatfi , the central defenders Kruno Nikačević and Rok Jeroncic, the opposite player Williams Padura Diaz and the libero Alessandro Sorgente. A strengthening market managed by sporting director Massimo Forese, who ultimately looks ambitiously towards a long, complex, but at the same time extremely stimulating season.

Delta Group Porto Viro

Third consecutive Serie A2 Credem Banca championship for Delta Group Porto Viro. After the extraordinary third place in last year’s Regular Season, the black and white team starts again with an emerging coach, Daniele Morato, born in ’89, formerly of Bergamo and Brugherio, with whom he won everything at youth level. The tandem of setters has been confirmed, with the eternal captain Fefè Garnica flanked by Enrico Zorzi, the latter in his sixth season in Porto Viro. In the opposite role the new face is that of the National Under 19 striker Tommaso Barotto, from Polesine from Stienta, while for Giacomo Bellei the next championship will be the third championship in black and fuchsia. The spiker department has almost completely undergone a revolution: Felice Sette is the only one confirmed from last season, joined by Nicola Tiozzo (leaving from Castellana), the baby Gabriele Chiloiro (from Brugherio) and two foreign athletes, the Brazilian Pedro and the Greek Sokratis Charalampidis. “Half” restyling between the central players: Matteo Sperandio and Rocco Barone confirmed, respectively in their fifth and third season in the Delta Group jersey, the new signings are Matteo Zamagni (from Castellana) and Mattia Eccher, silver medal at the last European Under 21. For the role of first libero Porto Viro is banking on the experience and quality of Davide Morgese, former Santa Croce and Reggio Emilia.

Tinet Prata of Pordenone

For the next season, Tinet Prata’s objectives are ambitious, but always pursuing the policy of small steps, trying to avoid proclamations, but focusing on the strength of work. The reconfirmed Alberto Baldazzi, Nicolò Katalan, Carlo De Angelis, Simone Scopelliti, Andrea Pegoraro and Michal Petras have been joined by a large group of new faces. Alessio Alberini, a talented setter from Torre di Mosto who has already played in Prata in the 2020/21 season and then established himself as one of the best performers in the category, has returned to directing, so much so that last season he deserved to be called up for a collegiate with Ferdinando De Giorgi’s world champion national team. Keeping him company in the director’s room is the young Giuseppe Bellanova, already in the Under 20 national team. A pair of very capable forwards have arrived from Vibo Valentia, a team that dominated the last Serie A2 championship, signing a “treble” (Championship, Italian Cup and Serie A2 Super Cup): these are the opposing player from Fano Manuele Lucconi and the Gorizia native Jernej Terpin. To complete the pair of liberos, Alex Aiello, born in Messina in 2002, was hired. Speaking of couples, the position 4 team made up of Dario Iannaccone and Ranieri Truocchio has been signed, young prospects with Serie A experience and potential still to grow and develop.

Consar Ravenna

A totem like Stefano Mengozzi, who is preparing to face his fourth adventure in his native Ravenna. A flag like Riccardo Goi, in his ninth non-consecutive season in the Byzantine club, enriched by confirmation as captain. A roster that emerged from the summer transfer market is half renewed but still very young: there are eight athletes born between 2003 and 2006, plus one born in 2000 (Grottoli) and two from 1999 (Panciocco and the Canadian Falardeau). And above all a team that does not hide its top ambitions after the quiet salvation achieved and the eighth place finish last year. This is the Consar that presents itself for the second year in a row at the starting line of the Serie A2 Credem Banca 2023/24, modeled by coach Marco Bonitta to try to be the protagonist until the end. The human and technical material to achieve the goal is all there, including players of great experience and caliber, a host of young promises, partly making their debut in A2, but already in the various national category teams. Athletes called to confirmation after the good last year, see Orioli and Mancini, to arrive in Bovolenta.

Conad Reggio Emilia

Tenacity and revenge are the combination that represents Conad Reggio Emilia in its fourteenth consecutive season in Serie A2 Credem Banca. After the narrow escape, Reggio starts again with the backbone of the last year, demonstrating that not all is lost. The confirmation of coach Fanuli was a natural choice for the club, which bet on a young and promising coach; There is something new on his bench: Tommaso Zagni, a coach with a lot of experience in the women’s Serie A. Many confirmations, such as that of the director Lorenzo Sperotto, the opposite Antonino Suraci, now in his fourth season in Reggio, but also that of the spiker Romolo Mariano, the Libero Ernesto Torchia and the central defenders Nicolò Volpe and Lorenzo Caciagli. As they say “you always return to where you had a good time”, this is certainly the case for center back and captain Nicola Sesto, spiker Matteo Maiocchi and setter Mattia Catellani, who after having had different experiences elsewhere have chosen to return to defense the yellow-red colors. Five new faces round off with a flourish: libero Poconi arrives from the Siena Super League, who will bring all his experience acquired from the Italian top flight to the pitch.

Kemas Lamipel Holy Cross

After celebrating the prestigious milestone of 60 years, Kemas Lamipel S. Croce opens a new decade of history with an unprecedented project for the A2 Series. The Tuscan club places its trust in head coach Michele Bulleri who won the role of first coach at the end of last season. At his side, confirmed, the second coach Alessandro Pagliai and the scoutman Matteo Morando. As for the official roster, confirmed are captain Leonardo Colli, spiker, in his tenth season in the red and white, director Manuel Coscione, who needs no introduction, and libero Luca Loreti, young (2005) but already permanently in the 6+1 . As for the “new” ones, the battery of spikers has been enriched with the important profile of Simone Parodi, whose CV it is superfluous to specify, flanked by prospects Nicolas Brucini, Nicholas Petratta, and Alessio Matteini. Completely renewed central department, characterized by the technical maturity of Antonio Cargioli, by the great potential of the very young Mati (2006), by the liveliness and athletic freshness of Giacomo Russo (2005). Completing the main diagonal we find the opposite Puerto Rican, but Cuban by birth, Klistan Lawrence, yet another futuristic athlete. At his side, coming from the A2 of Brescia, the eclectic Riccardo Gatto.

Emma Villas Siena

Emma Villas Siena starts again from a completely new diagonal made up of two foreign players: the setter is French, Thomas Nevot, and is making his first appearance in Italy after having won the Transalpine championship in his career, having worn the shirt of his national team and having played in European cups. The opposite is the Brazilian Matheus Krauchuk, who at just 25 years old has already played and lived in various countries: last year in Berlin he was German champion and has already played in South Korea and Turkey. In the summer he wore the shirt of the green and gold national team at the Universiade. In Italy he was a volleyball player for Santa Croce for a few months. There is an injection of all-Italian experience in the band. Sebastiano Milan has returned to Siena, already at Emma Villas in the 2019/20 season, the season that saw the Tuscans at the top of the A2 championship table until the tournament was interrupted due to the pandemic emergency. With him Marco Pierotti, former Bergamo player and opponent of the Sienese team several times in the past, Alessio Tallone and the young Federico Pellegrini, who stood out in the Sienese youth teams. At the center Riccardo Copelli, one of the best interpreters of this role in the category for years, the former Motta di Livenza Stefano Trillini and Alessandro Acuti and the young Mathia Ivanov. The libero is Federico Bonami, the only confirmed member of last season’s blue and white team; next to him is the young Martin Coser. The roster is closed by the setter Azaria Gonzi, former youth team of Emma Villas returning to Siena after having accumulated experience between A2 and A3, and the opposite Mattia Picuno, promoted to the first team. The coach is Gianluca Graziosi, an expert coach with a great aptitude for working with young people. The coach returns to Siena after the excellent professional experience of 2019/20. The assistant coaches are Marco Monaci and Alessandro Passaponti, who have done well with the white and blue youth teams.
