DAZN announces the exclusive acquisition of the rights to the CEV Champions League volleyball with all competitions for men’s and women’s clubs for the 2023/2024 season, thanks to the agreement concluded with Infront, holder of the CEV rights. The agreement, starting from November 22nd, includes, in addition to the exclusive CEV Champions League volleyball, also the best matches of the CEV Cup and the Challenge Cup.

There will be three SuperLega Credem Banca teams taking part in the top European competition: Trentino Itas, qualified as winners of the Scudetto, Cucine Lube Civitanova, Scudetto finalist, and Gas Sales Daiko Piacenza, winner of the 3rd Place Final played between the two excluded semi-finalists from the title race in the last SuperLega Credem Banca; a real play-off valid for access to the 2024 CEV Champions League.

The CEV Champions League will start on November 22nd, with the first matches of the 4th Round, i.e. the group stage. First time in the Champions League for Gas Sales Daiko Piacenza, who will debut at home, at the PalaBancaSport, at 8.00 pm against the Turkish side Halkbank Ankara (Berlin and Lisbon are the other teams in Pool C). Also on Wednesday 22nd, at 8.30pm, the first match of the Italian vice-champions of the Cucine Lube Civitanova against the Romanians of the Arcada Galati will be staged at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova (they complete the Pool E Maaseik and Praga); it then continues on Thursday 23 November with the Italian champions Trentino Itas who at 8.30 pm host ACH Volley Ljubljana (Pool B, together with Resovia and Tours) at the “ilT daily Arena”.

20 teams take part in the group stage (of which 17 seeded teams have already qualified, including Civitanova, Piacenza and Trento), divided into 5 pools of 4 teams each. The 5 group winners advance to the quarter-finals (home and away), the 5 runners-up and the best third-placed team play the double match of the round of 16 to designate the last 3 passes to the quarter-finals. The Semi-finals will also be played with the “home and away” formula and possible golden set, while the Final will be a single race, within the CEV Super Finals event.
