Everything is still possible, but Delta Group Porto Viro can’t really go wrong now. On Wednesday 19 April at 20.30, the nerofucsia will play match two of the quarter-finals of the Serie A2 playoffs Credem Banca at the Pala Intred in Bergamo. The hosts of Agnelli Tipiesse are ahead 1-0 in the series after conquering the Palasport in via XXV Aprile 1-3, therefore the Delta Group has the obligation to win – with any score – to bring the challenge back to Porto Viro for the “beautiful” of Sunday 23 April.

Race one said that Vincenzo Mastrangelo’s team has the technical and physical qualities to prove the feat in Lombardy, but will have to guess the approach to the match (to avoid another shock start), limit inaccuracies (in reception but also in attack) and take care of those small details that make an enormous difference in tight matches like those of the post season, especially in the final sets, in which Porto Viro was guilty of lucidity last Sunday.

This seems to be the route to follow, also according to the Delta Group captain Fefè Garnica, an old sea dog from the playoffs, who won last year with the Reggio Emilia shirt: “Having lost the first game at home is certainly not a morsel simple to digest, but we have to be lucid, in a balanced competition like the playoffs it can happen. In any case, I’m convinced that we have all the means to take the series to race three, we’ll just need to be more attentive to some details”.

“Playing match one at home sometimes takes a toll on you psychologically and this showed quite clearly on Sunday. Now, however, it’s up to us to make Bergamo feel that same weight, that pressure, which must win, otherwise it would be forced to return to our den… and that’s exactly what we want – continues Garnica – I think that if we manage to have greater continuity of the ball exchange on their float serve, it will be an even match until the end, then we will see who manages to win”.

The two referees will be Giuliano Venturi from Turin and Paolo Scotti from Cremona. The match, as usual, will be broadcast in live pay streaming on the Volleyballworld TV web platform.
