Emma Villas Volley activates a new collaboration with The Begin Volley Ancona, a company that until last season was called Accademia Volley Ancona and which plays in the Serie B championship. The collaboration will have a value and a purpose primarily for the two sectors youth but with a broader view that may also concern and include the respective first teams of the two clubs. This is the first collaboration of this type activated by Siena, which intends to continue moving in this direction.
There are various points of contact between the two clubs. One concerns Leonardo Fantauzzo, a player owned by Emma Villas Volley Siena who was loaned to the Marche club. Ancona’s coach is then Dore Della Lunga, who played as a spiker in the Sienese team in the 2020-2021 season.
The President of the Ancona-based company is Guido Guidi, the technical director is Marco Paolini. The sporting director of the Marche club is Roberto Leonardi, in his sixth year in this role and who also boasts a past as a coach: “We are very happy to be able to activate this collaboration – comments Leonardi. – We are carrying out a process of renewal of our club, and we are also trying to create a more open mentality, made up of synergies with other volleyball realities. We are preparing a good team and we hope to be able to play in a top championship in Serie B. Leonardo Fantauzzo is with us, who just arrived on loan from Siena, then there is the spiker Ferrini who played in Grottazzolina, and again the libero Giorgini, the central Ferraro. In place 2 we have Santini, born in 2001, and Tommaso Larizza, born in 1999, dribbles”.
Then, on the collaboration with Siena: “The synergy will start from the work that is carried out in the youth sectors, but there will also be possible implications in the first teams – says the sports director Leonardi. – Emma Villas Volley represents an important interlocutor for us, the idea of a similar project was born precisely on the occasion of the market negotiation for Leonardo Fantauzzo. On that occasion we decided to jointly extend the range of action. I have been following the adventure of Emma Villas for years, who have been playing in Serie A for some time. Dore Della Lunga also spoke very well of the Tuscan reality, of which I had an excellent impression as regards the organization.
