Already this morning Herrera, the first of the national team to return to base, joined the group again. All the others are coming up at the weekend, from Monday the 16th the technical staff will finally have the full team.
In the meantime, Lorenzetti is enjoying the beautiful Perugia seen yesterday in the joint training with Porto Viro with the “big boys” who have shown a lot of quality and an already decent physical condition and with the “little ones” who have had an exponential technical and motivational growth.
The Fano-born coach himself comments like this:
“I saw a good team yesterday beyond the technical aspect, but for how the boys were able to put into practice the things I asked for. It was a match that we wanted to interpret in a special way. It is clear that they did not start with “titles”, but it was like the last day of school for this working group and as an attitude we wanted to underline the fact that we had a good time during this period both thanks to the patience and attention of the experts and thanks to the growth of young people. Tomorrow we will dedicate a special moment for the young people to underline our gratitude because without them it would have been a very boring period, to consolidate the sense of belonging to this club and to testify to the fact that they are ready if during the season sometimes, doing I beg you, should we need it in training. For each role we have possibilities and this was the second objective of our preparation. As for the more experienced guys, there is the awareness that they have prepared to the best of their ability to wait for their teammates involved with the national teams, they are the first to clearly know that the level they have had so far is different from what we will have in the gym from Monday” .
Now for Lorenzetti and his staff the wait to have the full squad is over and a different phase of work begins.
“There was a wait, we followed our national teams in the various competitions, now we have to adapt to the calendar we have. It is clear that each coach has his own characteristics and ideas of the game and from Monday we will also need to push on this aspect. A few days ago I heard a very nice interview with Ettore Messina, (coach of Olimpia Milano, ed.), I don’t remember if before or after the basketball Super Cup, who described the first week of work as a lot of confusion and, if there is There was confusion on his part, I think there will be some here at Palabarton too (Lorenzetti smiles, ed.).
