The last match of 2023 assigns Avimecc Volley Modica the treacherous trip to the Rinascita Lagonegro pitch. The match which will be played tomorrow at 6pm will be valid as the first day of the return round of the Blue group of the A3 series championship.

Coach Enzo Distefano’s blue-and-whites are fresh from a three-set defeat to Palmi and in Lagonegro, despite being aware of the difficulties they will have to face, they will try to make up for the subdued performance on Boxing Day and start playing again as they have shown they know how to do on other occasions.

This morning the Modican group left by bus for Lagonegro where tomorrow morning they will carry out the finishing touches and then in the afternoon everyone will concentrate on trying to close the calendar year well.

“Let’s leave the Palmi match behind us which – declares Enzo Distefano – left us a little dazed and immediately think about the next match against Lagonegro. Tomorrow the return round begins and ironically we will face the other team that beat us at home in the first round. We know their qualities and their individualities, we know that Lagonegro is a difficult pitch, where many teams, despite playing well, have been beaten, but we will go and play starting from our certainties and our qualities. We will have to try to exploit our strengths with the aim of improving something in batting. We are at the first return leg – he continues – let’s leave behind what good we did in the first round which was a lot and was the result of the hard work and the many sacrifices made in the gym and let’s concentrate from now on what awaits us in the return round. Our goal is to reach the play offs, but everything depends on each match starting from Lagonegro, where – concludes the Volley Modica coach – a good performance will be needed to end 2023 well”.
