The wait for him was a lot from the moment ErmGroup Volleyball San Giustino officially announced the signing. And Petar Hristoskov, the slender opposite who came from Bulgaria to face his first Italian experience (25 years old on February 19th and 206 centimeters tall), is proving to be an athlete with undoubted potential, always useful and decisive for the cause of the blue-and-white team. He fought in December against a sprained ankle which caused him some discomfort, forcing him to forfeit the match in Savigliano, then he restarted and is a constant pitfall for his opponents when balls come off the net. After last month’s physical problem, are you now recovered? “It’s not the first time I’ve experienced an ankle injury – says Hristoskov – but nothing serious. I am grateful to be looked after by the professionals who make up our team and who have helped me recover in such a short period. I’ve made a full recovery now.” What impact has there been on your part with the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship and how do you judge its level? “I like the fact that this group is so unpredictable and competitive. Each point is essential for the classification. The level of the Italian A3 series is, for me, an excellent step for my individual growth as a professional athlete”. How do you evaluate ErmGroup San Giustino’s behavior so far and does the team have the right credentials to aim for the play-offs? “We are growing from game to game and we continue to always reach a new level of volleyball. It’s nice to have been able to work as a team right from the start and it’s very important to be united in difficult moments on the pitch. Yes, I’m sure we’ll make it to the playoffs!” How do you find yourself in Italy and in the context of a provincial municipality such as San Giustino? “Playing in Italy is an adventure for me and I’m enjoying every day! I’m really happy to stay here: it’s a small town but for me it’s an advantage, because I prefer peace and quiet places; plus, everything is very close. Since I’ve been in San Giustino, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how truly positive and kind everyone here is, even the strangers I meet on the street. Generally speaking, I appreciate the way of life in Italy”.
