Palmi-Catania return and, again, return, for a double challenge at the foot of the “Mongibello” which, in the space of three days, will see OmiFer Palmi compete with the leaders of the blue group of the Serie A3 volleyball first, day 15 January at 17, in the championship match valid for the regular season Credem bank and, immediately after, Wednesday 18 January at 19.30, in the single match of the quarter-finals of the “Del Monte” Italian cup which sees the first 4 classified teams as protagonists at the end of the first leg of each group (White and Blue) at the home of the club with the best position in its group. Then the intersection in the semifinal and the “final four” or semifinals and the final. In the space of a few hours, therefore, two matches will be played which represent almost half of the historical precedents between the two teams: there are in fact 5 matches in all that have finished in the almanac between FarmItalia Catania and OmiFer Palmi “Franco Tigano”, with 4 successes for the Calabrians and only one victory for the Sicilians conquered during the current season, in the first leg match played on the neutral PalaCalafiore in Reggio Calabria, when coach Waldo Kantor’s boys beat the blue jerseys 3-1, in one round midweek with a bitter taste for the Palmese, at the end of a game which, beyond the result, was almost always played on the tracks of balance.
