He did it at the Ex Convent of San Francesco in Pordenone, packed for the occasion, to further strengthen the bond that will see the highest expression of men’s volleyball in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region bring the spectacle of high-level volleyball to the banks of the Noncello, at the PalaCrisafulli, where Dante Boninfante’s boys will play the home matches of the next Serie A2 Credem Banca di Volley.
The Tinet boys marched in front of authorities, managers, partners and supporters, led by captain Nicolò Katalan and the technical staff led by Dante Boninfante and Samuele Papi, two authentic monuments of Italian volleyball.
The move to Pordenone, necessary for reasons of capacity of the PalaPrata, which in any case will remain the nest of the yellow-blue youth sector, is an extraordinary growth opportunity to be seized immediately.
The growth of the Via Volta company has distant roots. An unstoppable crescendo that has led to the emergence of Volley Prata which has been continuously attending Serie A since 2018. The club has been structured and is considered an excellence both from an organizational and technical point of view. The definitive leap in quality occurred with the advent of Dante Boninfante and Samuele Papi. The duo led to the best results ever: A3 Italian Cup and Promotion to A2 in 2021-22 and quarter-finals promotion to Super League in 2022 – 2023.
For next season the objectives are ambitious, but always pursuing the policy of small steps, trying to avoid proclamations, but focusing on the strength of work.
The reconfirmed Alberto Baldazzi, Nicolò Katalan, Carlo De Angelis, Simone Scopelliti, Andrea Pegoraro and Michal Petras have been joined by a large group of new faces.
Alessio Alberini, a talented setter from Torre di Mosto who has already played in Prata in the 2020-2021 season and then established himself as one of the best performers in the category, so much so that last season he deserved to be called up for a collegiate with Ferdinando De Giorgi’s world champion national team. Keeping him company in the director’s room is the young Giuseppe Bellanova, already in the U20 national team.
A pair of very strong forwards have arrived from Vibo Valentia, a team that dominated the last Serie A2 championship, signing a “treble”: Championship, Italian Cup and Super Cup. These are Manuele Lucconi from Fano and Jernej Terpin from Gorizia.
