Captain Santiago Orduna together with his teammates Domenico Cavaccini, Jerney Terpin, Paul Buchegger and Cosimo Balestra were welcomed with great enthusiasm by the students who were involved in the debate – moderated by journalist Roberto Saverino – on the centrality of sport within social life and of the educational path of all young people. The motto used as the title of the initiative is motivational: «No limits in sport».

Thunderous applause for the expert Italian-Argentine director Santiago Orduna who recounted his over fifteen-year experience in the world of professional volleyball and then moved on to report with satisfaction the good results obtained in the first glimpse of the Championship with his team which today occupies the first place in the general classification.

Called to intervene, then, the central Cosimo Balestra, born in 2003, who won the gold medal with the men’s Under 20 national team at the 16th edition of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Banská Bystrica in Slovakia and that of the continental title Under 20, last September 25, in the victorious final in Montesilvano (3–2 against Poland). An example, that of the very young athlete from Taranto, of how talent can lead to great successes if it is cultivated with sacrifice, self-sacrifice and determination in line with the words spoken by the free-lance Domenico Cavaccini: «You mustn’t be afraid of experiencing difficulties in sport. Just as in life one must not get discouraged and consequently set limits to what one can achieve».

This is the message that was launched to the young audience, so that everyone can pursue their own goals, indulging their own attitudes and living their own experience as an “athlete” in every area, from sport to school. A concept well illustrated by Walter Malacrino, regional secretary of “Sport and Health” at the table of speakers together with Giacomo Modica and Vincenzo Leone, respectively coach and athletic trainer of Vibonese Calcio.
