The preparation of the WiMORE Salsomaggiore started on Monday and will take part in the Serie A3 Credem Banca national championship starting on 15 October. The Gialloblù, under the orders of coach Alberto Raho, assisted by assistant Gigi Montanini, by the third coach Giovanni Monteverdi and by the athletic trainers Massimiliano Rimoldi and Luca Amisano, met in the morning at the Coopernuoto Sports Center in Parma for a weights session, followed by athletic training in the water with a final dedicated to swimming then in the evening the first training session of the season at the Oltretorrente gym, divided into two phases: the first part reserved for athletic work, the second for ball control and receiving exercises. Together with the reconfirmed Matteo Beltrami, Manuel Bussolari, Fabrizio Ferraguti, Alessandro Zecca, the young Leonardo Conforti, Filippo Monica, promoted to the first team, to whom Francesco Belli has also been added in recent days, and the returns of Federico Boschi and Luca Muroni, both already on the roster two years ago in Serie B, there were several new faces: spikers Marco Cantagalli, Riccardo Riccò, Rik Van Solkema and central players Riccardo Alberghini and Nicholas Bucciarelli. Only setter Giacomo Leoni will be absent, who will join the group this week. “There must be a climate of enthusiasm from the beginning to the end of the championship – the words of the Parmesan coach Raho, making his debut on a Serie A bench after an already long career abroad and in the youth arena – we absolutely have to arrive in the correct way at training sessions and matches, therefore, the staff and team will be fully committed to creating enthusiasm among us and those who will come to see us”.
What roster has been set up?
“It’s a nice mix between young hopefuls and also very specific confirmations that we met both in last year’s championship and in previous seasons. It will be very important to create an amalgam between these two different realities: over half of the squad is Generation Z and this will certainly only be a benefit for the environment that we will try to exploit. We are not worried about the lack of experience, we are much more motivated for what we are going to do between now and March”.
