Another final for Pieve Volley Tricolore, the Under17 team of Fabio Sirotti and Mauro Gallingani beat San Martino 3-1 in the semi-final.
After the 3-0 victory away from home, where the little lions showed great character, they also managed to win at home at the Moro in front of their own fans. Sirotti’s boys certainly slowed down on the return leg, they knew that they would only need to win one set to reach the final and after starting tensely they won the match in an hour and a half.
The best scorers were the two spikers of the team Bastelli and Tagliavini, who last season were also in the Under 17 team that reached the territorial ceiling; according to the coaches, reaching the final was the minimum expectation of this group of young athletes, who wanted to reconfirm their strength for the second year in a row.
Fabio Sirotti, first coach: “We weren’t very good, we played a wonderful match from them, with great concentration, we managed it with our heads and with character, today we were mixed in our fundamentals, we have to work on it to face the final as best we can ”.
Mauro Gallingani, second coach: “This is a fantastic group of good kids, the victory and reaching the final is the culmination of a journey made with the kids who were also in the under-17s last year, but also with many new kids and who have just started playing this sport. For them it was their duty to reach the final, because last year we won the provincial championship. Today they weren’t as brilliant as at San Martino, but the important thing was to win.”
