This evening’s victory on the Kioene Arena court is worth its weight in gold for the Bianconeri of Pallavolo Padova, who manage to take home the match against Valsa Group Modena. On the fifth day of the second round of this 79th season of SuperLega Credem Banca, coach Cuttini’s team faced coach Petrella’s team at home. The match, broadcast live on Rai Sport and VBTV, ended with the victory of the home team (3-1). The Bianconeri showed up on the pitch with Porro, Crosato, Falaschi, Gardini, Plak, Garcia, Zenger (L). Gardini is the best scorer and MVP with 24 points (59% attack) for Padova, while for Modena Juantorena with 21 points (58% attack). The two teams will now have a weekend of rest, while the Final Four Del Monte® Coppa Italia will be played at the Unipol Arena in Bologna. Padova will return to the field on Saturday 3 February, again live on Rai, for the match in Verona; away game also for Modena, playing on Sunday 4 February at 6pm against Civitanova.

Modena raised their level of play, they put us under pressure while serving, but in the end we took the match home. We were good at staying in the game in moments of difficulty and when they pushed hard and in the end waiting for them to lower the intensity to score points.”
Osmany Juantorena (Valsa Group Modena): “It’s a painful defeat, we’re very sorry and we apologize to the fans. We are working as hard as we can during the week, but evidently it’s not enough. We are in difficulty, I didn’t expect it either but it’s like this and so we have to unblock ourselves mentally and give something more.”
