Del Monte Junior League begins and Kemas Lamipel S. Croce wins the first leg of the first round 3-0, against the Under 20 selection of Emma Villas Siena. The match was always in control for Pagliai’s boys, who did well to earn important breaks in the first part of the sets. The coach gave space to all the athletes available. The technical, physical and experience gap between the two teams was notable but the guests still held the court with their heads held high, also achieving satisfaction in blocking, attacking and serving. The date and time of the return match are yet to be defined. The news:

1 set. Kemas Lamipel on the pitch with Gallina as director, Mati as opposite, Russo and Baldini in the centre, Brucini and Matteini in the forward line, Loreti as libero. Emma Villas responds with Santilli at the dribble, Kurtaj at the diagonal, Ivanov and Peruzzo at the center, Pellegrini and Morelli at the back, Lazzerini libero. Great start for the red and whites, immediately +5 with excellent attacks. A pipe from Matteini makes it 13-6. Coach Monaci calls a time-out but the gap widens. An “ace” from Brucini brings the Wolves to 18-7 while Pagliai alternates Loreti and Moretti. At 22-13 Brucini puts the ball on the ground and sends Russo to serve. On the counterattack, Peruzzo blocks Mati, then Brucini hits the pole in attack and Siena gains ground: Gallina makes up for it, second block in the set. Kurtaj finds a nice ball change for the guests, at 24-16 Brucini closes from place 2.

2 Sep. Kemas Lamipel returns to the field with Lorenzo Camarri as director. The hosts immediately attack: Matteini in super smashes the away defense, 6-3. Baldini stops Ivanov 1vs1 in the center, 9-6, but Emma Villas plays better than in the first set and is in the match. Kemas Lamipel still takes the lead, 14-8, with an ace from Brucini, and then the visiting bench calls the first time-out. The level of the red and white game rises: Brucini’s “pipe” scores, when the spiker comes out of the service turn the score is 16-8. The visiting team, under pressure, begins to make mistakes and the Wolves also put the second set “on ice”: Mati in attack scores the 21-9, then finds the ace for the 23-10. The partial ends at 25-11.
