The Del Monte Junior League adventure for Cisterna Volley, competing among the best eight teams in Italy in the Under 20 category, ended in the group stage. A valuable and formative experience for coach Ronsini’s boys, who fought with determination in the two challenges of group A, composed of three teams.

In the debut match, Cisterna faced Consar Ravenna, showing good signs especially in the first set, lost only on advantage for 27-29. In the following sets, Ravenna took control of the match, winning with the partial scores of 15-25 and 19-25.

The second and final match saw the Pontini challenge Itas Trentino. Trento made the difference especially in blocking (10 winning blocks against only 1 by Cisterna), easily closing the first set 25-11. In the second set, Cisterna reacted very well, fighting point by point, only surrendering at the end on 25-23. The third set, however, saw Itas prevail again with a clear 25-12.

Coach Francesco Ronsini commented on the path of his boys: «like every end of the season, there comes that important moment in which you take stock and you compare yourself with the most important realities in Italy. We had already lived some experiences at a national level, others not. We found ourselves moving within a path shared with some of the best youth sectors in Italy, approaching the competition with an under-age roster.
