He arrived in Belluno with nearly 300 Serie A appearances under his belt. And it didn’t take him long to show what he’s made of. Francesco Corrado was one of the brightest lights in last Wednesday’s test against Tinet Prata di Pordenone, a higher-division team: a closed match without any set points, but a useful opportunity to measure himself against a worthy opponent.

“The first impression is certainly positive,” Corrado says, “especially considering we’ve only just started. Furthermore, we faced a very strong opponent who had a few more weeks of training than us. We still wanted to stay on top of things, and I’d say we succeeded.” The number 10 is satisfied, but with the clarity of someone who knows there’s still a long road ahead: “There are several aspects that need to be fixed. And that’s inevitable, given the heavy workloads we’ve been under these past few weeks. Right now, the goal is to try to play the best volleyball possible and respect the coach’s requests. We’re moving forward with confidence.”

“A great group is coming together, and we hope this team can bring a lot of success. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. We can’t hide.
