His voice has echoed throughout the Valenza sports hall, but “Chicco” Di Marzio hasn’t just been the voice that recounts the home exploits of Negrini CTE Acqui Terme. He has been, and will continue to be, especially after the excellent work he has done, the team manager of Pallavolo La Bollente.

Behind the logistical and bureaucratic organization of matches, trips, and practices is Enrico Di Marzio, a former basketball athlete who last year didn’t hold back when the opportunity arose to help an important sports organization in his city.

He has earned recognition for his skills and human qualities, and, a year after his debut in this role, he sums it up:

“It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions. It’s been very, very rewarding, beyond the results that ultimately arrived. It surprised me in every way. It was the challenge of a new role, one that needed to be learned and understood, but it’s been a wonderful year, especially on a human level. I’ve met wonderful people with whom I’ve shared moments that are rarely lighthearted, and a lot of real work. These guys are incredibly committed and work incredibly hard. I’ve learned that professional sports is a very serious and demanding profession. There are twenty-year-olds who have been traveling around Italy for five years, far from their loved ones and families. We often don’t realize what’s behind it.”
